Yes. Water is basic necessities of human being. According to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) movie theatres across the country must provide free and pure drinking water inside the halls, instead of compelling customers to purchase overpriced bottled water from their cafeterias.
Recently, I went to multiplex for movie and I asked for free drinking water. The manager said we didn't arrange water due to some problem here.
I said it's not my fault. According to rules and regulations you must provide free drinking water. He said, give me sometime I will arrange it.
After couple of minutes I again went to manager and asked for water. He replied the same.
I never ever before bought drinking water in multiplex. I thought let's bought it. It would be just Rs.20/-
I ask for water bottle at outlet and gave 20 Rs. The guy asked for RS. 60/-
It's horrible. I was surprised!
Again I called manager, hey I am not going to pay 60/- RS for it. You must provide free drinking water. I will go and complain to consumer forum. He said sir take this water bottle for free.
I observed that many people in the queue paying 60/- RS for the same and I got it one for free.
So thing is, you should know your rights and should have some legal knowledge.
Never buy water in Multiplex!
